Open Letter to PCI Members from Joe Cappurccini

Dear Pilots for Christ Members:

I want to give you a praise report and thank you for all your prayers. On April 21, 2005, I became the new owner of a 1974 Piper Warrior PA28-151, N41541. I purchased the airplane in Altoona, Pennsylvania (KAOO) through the aircraft dealer Penn-Air Inc. This airplane was well maintained by the last owner who had it since 1994. I praise God for His faithfulness in seeing the dream come to life and reality.

There were three reasons why I knew this was the right airplane for me: (1) 7.3 fuel burn cross country; (2) More cabin and baggage space than a C-172; (3) six hours endurance long range fuel tanks

The airplane is based at Ros Traver Airport (KFWQ) which is on the south side of Pittsburgh. The plane and several Christian pilots are available to serve Pilots for Christ when a mission comes up that we can meet. Some of the local Christian pilots are interested in starting Pilots for Christ Pittsburgh chapter at Ross Traver Airport. As of now, I am not sure whether I will relocate on the mission field or not. But, if the decision is “no”, then the Piper Warrior will remain at Ros Traver Airport and will serve the needs of the future Pilots for Christ chapter.

Before our departure from Altoona, we prayed that the Warrior would be a blessing to all who flew in it and that many would come to know Christ. We prayed that its wings would give an airlift of a mission of mercy to many in need. What do you think of the nickname MIGHTY WARRIOR?

I hope to visit all of your chapters soon.

In Christ,
Joe Cappurcinni
