A Success Story Still In ProgressThere have been many in the past and present who have heeded God's word in Isa. 54:2 to enlarge their tents. Here is a story about such men. While Saul, soon to become Paul, was on a journey to Damascus, God called him into His service in a dramatic way. Through a series of miracles, Paul was brought to a point of obedience to God that affected the rest of his life. We are not all called as dramatically as was Paul, but God does call us and if we are obedient to God's will, we will also experience miracles in our lives. Such a series of miracles has touched the life of a member of our Florida Chapter. In 1994, Marc Ivanchak felt God's prompting to bring the gospel message to the unreached people of central and south America. The Lord gave Marc a scripture verse, Romans 15:20-21:"It has been my ambition to preach the gospel where Christ was not known, so that I would not be building on someone else's foundation. Rather as it is written: Those who were not told about him will see, and those who have not heard will understand.". Thus encourgaged, Marc contacted World Missions and asked for a listing of unreached people along the Caribbean rim. Discovering eight such people groups, Marc set out in 1995 in the Florida chapter's Cessna 172 to visit these people. He flew down the south eastern coast of Mexico to Central and South America visiting these eight tribal groups. This flight was an adventure in itself which those of you attending the PCI convention this September will be able to hear about. Since 1995 Marc has focused on one unreached group in Nicaragua. He purchased ten acres of land about forty miles south of Managua, the capital where Marc has established his first ministry, an orphan's home. Marc sees this orphan's home, and the surrounding land as the base for extensions of this ministry to the other seven unreached groups. Marc rented a DC3 to transport materials to work with the Ketchi Indians in Belize, but for the rest of the air transport need he has relied on the Florida Chapters Cessna 172 and Piper Saratoga. The Florida Chapter is currently praying for a larger twin engine aircraft to support this outreach and others as far south as Brazil. God builds his kingdom on the obedience of men like Marc Ivanchak, but Marc is not the only man God can use. If we are obedient, He can use each and every one of us. Pilots for Christ, made up of such men, can know of no limits glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ. Next Article: Where is God? Previous Article: The Sky Pilot Said It |
