"The Sky Pilot Said It"A Fellow AviatorIsa 54:2 tells us "enlarge the place of your tent; stretch out the curtains of you dwellings, spare not; lengthen your cords, and strengthen your pegs" I don't know about you, but some days I feel like my tent is already too large and I do NOT want to stretch my curtains any farther! When I stop long enough to realize who is saying this, then I must recognize that it is God who is actually taking on the additional load and not me. I am merely putting the tent up. I must learn never to measure God's resources by mine. God begins with something small, like you or me, but He does not stop there. He adds an amazing ingredient to my words, thoughts, prayers, and service until I can hardly recognize myself in them. This is the story throughout scripture: Abraham's dead body- and God; Moses' staff- and God; David's sling and- God; A boy's small lunch- and God; Twelve disciples-and God. When I do not give God the opportunity to use what I have is when I fail. When I do, however, God becomes my great enhancer and multiplier . Let Him take what little you have to offer today and cause it to grow for Christ's cause. Have a Great day and be Blessed! Pastor Jerry Poff Those of you who have first hand memories of Pearl Harbor and early WWII will remember that the "Sky Pilot " was the unit chaplain. Pastor Jerry Poff has agreed to work in that capacity for Pilots for Christ. Besides being pastor of a growing church, Jerry is a long term member of Pilots for Christ who owns and operates his Cherokee 180 for the Lord.
