Table of ContentsPCI Mercy Flights ReinstatedBy President Don Clark With the input of our Chapter Presidents and Board Of Directors, we have created a Pilots Qualification document that will form a solid foundation for future PCI Mercy Flights. As the needs and directions change for PCI, any changes to this document will be published in the PCI Newsletter. Any new members or existing member can request the full up-dated document from the International Headquarters. The PCI Pilot Qualifications Document has been included with the March-April 1998 Newsletter. Thank you for your patience in this matter. 12 Successful Missions Flown (1st Quarter, 1998)By Tommy Lee, President, Southwest Alabama Chapter Four of our of our twelve trips this quarter were for Joe Hyde, who had cancer. With sadness I report to you that Joe left us last month; but our sadness is overcome by the rejoicing in heaven, the celebration of one of God's saints coming home. What a great example of a man of faith. Joe will surely be missed! We flew Hergert Davis, a gentleman from Pascagoula, MS to Little Rock AR. Herbert has a large tumor on his brain. Terry Kilpatrck flew Shirley Bonnavo from Baton Rouge to Birmingham. Shirley suffers from a heart disorder. Tommy Lee flew Crystal Hanks to Houston, TX. She suffers from a rare disorder of the nerves of the stomach. She has been extremely sick and would appreciate your prayers for her and her mother, Debbie Bowen. Terry Chapman flew Anita Williams to Atlanta for a specialized treatment. E.J. Tenney flew Eskie Dukes from Birmingham to San Antonio, TX. Eskie was badly burned on his legs and could not bend them. God most assuredly ordained this trip as we were already going to Houston that day anyway. Terry Chapman flew an emergency trip for Jeff and Donna Rowell to be with their young child during a medical crisis. The Lifeflight helicopter did not have room for the mother and child together. Terry also flew Kyle Korman from New Orleans to Atlanta. This 7 year old suffers from leukemia. He also flew 11 year old Sue Fredricks, who has brain tumor from Mobile to Memphis. This again was an emergency call. We are so thankful that God continues to make planes available. Those times when I have to tell a mother we can’t help because we don’t have a plane are unbelievably painful. We thank you for your support and prayers as we fly and seed to minister the hurting in a most practical way. Cincinnati Tri-State Chapter Cadet ProgramBy Chris Suttles, President, Cincinnati Tri-State Chapter Sent to me by Chris Suttles, to solicit and give help in the establishing of Cadet programs. --Don Clark Here is the information on the Cincinnati Tri-State Chapter (Christian Aviation Academy) Cadet Program schedule for 1998 and manual material. This is how we have things working here and we would like to hear from other chapters on where they are getting their youth cadet program rolling or if they are already doing it, to share their ideas. I have papers written out for the badges, which you will see later. Nine badges in all, each with its own agenda. Several badges may cover some of the same material, but it breaks things down to show how things work or how to plan. The flight school that we hold our meetings at has a chalkboard and a dry marker board, plus allot of other things to teach about aviation. When you get to the part about Co-Pilot, Navigator and Flight Engineer, we have a folder for each with a checklist and the items highlighted for that particular job. We have the flight engineer do the preflight along with the Pilot in Command, plus the Co-Pilot will listen in together with the P.I.C. to get weather, NOTAMs and PIREPs for F.S.S.. The Navigator will plot our course, all check points and time distance etc. with the P.I.C. confirming the information. The package sent does not include the design on the badges or the t-shirts that were made up, but I think you will get a good idea of how we use the 2 hours we have for fellowship plus time to learn and have a break. Plus I have a library of books, manuals, descriptions of aircraft, videos, charts, etc. We have a student handbook Flight Time Publishers FTP-SHP-2. Our Mini Aviation Camp will consist of Ground School/ Preflight / 2-3 hours of actual log flight time with a C.F. I. Tour of a tower and or F.S.S. or F.S.D.O. A communication program, classes on headsets, light signals, Airspace and A.T.C. and hand signals. If you have any questions please contact Chris Suttles at 606-283-9174 after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, or weekends. Welcome New PCI Members

The booth that we have for this year is located in South Aviation Exhibit Hangar "D" and # 4094 (Dead center of the building). We are looking for members to be available to help out in PCI’s space from 9 am to 5 PM. It would be nice if you could be there the full 7 days, but if you could give a couple of days, or hours, all would be greatly appreciated. Donations are also still required in support providing material to be given away and campground fees for those of us who will be there all week. We currently need another $3000.00 to meet the need. Your prayers are sought so that the members would be bold for Christ, to reach a lost world right in our back yard. Thanks for the help that you will provide. Help that is Needed in PCI
